Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ has taken the cash registers by storm on Day 1: Collection and more.

Ajay Devgn’s historical film ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ witnessed an enormous first day collection of 15.10 crores at the box office. Based on the life of Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare (stylised as Tanhaji in the film), the historical drama has high-voltage dialogues with fascinating action scenes. With Ajay Devgn and Kajol coming back together for a film after almost a decade, and Saif Ali Khan in a negative role, the film has garnered positive reviews from the audience and critics alike.

The Om Raut directorial is a portrayal of the 17th century where Tanhaji fights under the flag of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to take back the fort at Kondana from the Mughals. The film presents the Battle of Sinhagarh, which took place between the Maratha Army led by Tanhaji Malusare (played by Ajay Devgn) and Mughal fort keeper Udaybhan Singh Rathor (played by Saif Ali Khan) with interesting twists and turns. With good cinematography and story-telling and Sanjay Mishra’s narration, the film looks majestic and grand.

Saif Ali Khan’s brilliant depiction of a maniacal and ruthless bad-guy, a stellar cast and Ajay Devgn and Kajol’s soft moments with appealing chemistry has made the film exceed expectations at the box office and has left Deepika Padukone’s acclaimed film ‘Chhapaak’ behind in terms of first day collection. ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ has a wide release with around 3,500 plus screens and is expected to see great business on the weekend.

The film also marks Ajay Devgn’s 100 films in Bollywood.

Now, what could’ve been a better congratulatory present for Ajay than these box-office stats, right?
